Millinocket – Irene A. Lebel, 81, died Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at a Patten health care facility. She was born February 29, 1936 in Houlton, the daughter of Ralpheal and Sophie (Michaud) Legassey.
Irene was well known for and will be remembered for her love of gardening and her cooking talents.
She is survived by four siblings, Eugene Legassey of Madawaska, Albert Legassey of Millinocket, Roger Legassey of Severeville, Tennessee, and Gertrude Lausier of South Windsor, Connecticut; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Irene was predeceased by her parents, a sister Cecille Ashlaw, and a brother, Mitch Legassey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 A.M. Thursday, December 7 at Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 19 Colby Street, Millinocket with the Rev. Bruce Siket, pastor, presider. Interment will be at the Millinocket Cemetery. Gifts in memory of Irene may be sent to the Katahdin Area Support Group, P.O. Box 374, Millinocket, ME 04462.
