Condolence From: Jim Rutkowski
Condolence: I knew Rick for the past 18 years, since the day he started at the Turnpike Commission. We have worked together on many projects, and in my opinion was one of the top few smartest guys with technology that I ever knew. On several occasions I would go to Rick with a technical problem that I could not solve. He would motion for me to sit down at his desk, and most times within short order, we would together solve the problem. I remember thinking often that Rick had a gruff outward appearance, but if you really knew him he was the most caring, helpful, and generous person. He spoke very fondly of his mom and all the projects he did for her. I will miss him greatly, both personally and professionally. I pray that family and friends find peace and comfort during this season of life.

Condolence: I knew Rick as a child and mostly through his amazing sister Kathy. His loss will be felt for a long time as they had grown close as adults. Rick always had this way of putting a smile on your face no matter what! I will miss that. To Kitty, Kathy, and family I am so sorry you are having to endure this loss. I can only hope and pray your memories will bring you comfort and peace in the days ahead. Our prayers are with you as you go through this time of loss and celebrate his life. If there is anything we can do to help please let us know. Rick did a lot at the rink and I know you are going to need help there. I am here for whatever you all need. Love you all! God Bless!

Condolence: I've worked with Rick for over 15 years. He is like the smartest guy in the I.T. department. He does have a certain way about him when he sees someone doing something - maybe not right. Funny story, years ago at work, it was Halloween time, and we had a basket of candy in the break area. I Found one of the old wax candies with the sugar liquid in the. I haven't seen these for years. I started chewing on it when Rick walked by. He stopped, head to the side, gave a look and asked, "Why are you eating a glow stick"? ... He will be missed. God bless the family and heaven gets a really good guy. I've never met anyone more helpful!
