Obituary for Janet Rudolph

Janet E. Rudolph, 81 of Gurnee, IL, passed away at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL on Wednesday December 6, 2017.

She was born on February 17, 1936 in Waukegan, IL to the late Marshall and Alice (Neely) Erickson. Janet married George Frederick Rudolph on June 21, 1958. He preceded her in death on January 3, 2012.

Janet worked for Commonwealth Edison, retiring after 55 year of service as a Vice President. Janet had many milestone achievements during her storied career. Her true legacy is that she worked in a “Man’s” world long before women held positions of her stature, thereby making history. She did everything from the smallest task to the mighty. Additionally, she was a large supporter of the ASPCA loving not only her dogs, but all dogs. She also enjoyed cooking and gardening.

Janet is survived by her brothers, Marshall (Lucille) Erickson and twin brother Gerald Erickson. Janet was cared for by her Guardians and Nieces, Karen (Len) Braunling and Kristine (Jim) Cominsky. Additional survivors include Nieces and Nephews: Martha Erickson, Dave (Stephanie) Erickson, Stuart (Annette) Erickson, Elaine (Phil) Frederickson, Sandy (Drew) Halbertstadt, Mark Adams; Cousin Marion Chaddock; very special friend Mary Jo Prigge, a host of great nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog Dolly. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her sister in laws Carole Erickson and Mary Lou Adams, niece Cindy Adams, and very special friend Robert Prigge.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday December 12, 2017 from 5:00-6:00 P.M. at Warren Funeral Home. Services will be at 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday December 12, 2017 at the Funeral Home. Father James Merold will be officiating. Entombment will be at Warren Cemetery at a later date and is private. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the ASPCA, www.aspca.org/donate in Janet’s name would be appreciated or any charity of your choice. The Family is being assisted by Warren Funeral Home.
