Obituary for Domenick V. Elia

Domenick V.  Elia
Elia, Domenick “Don” Marlton, NJ

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, 91, died peacefully on December 8, 2017. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Lil, son Robert (Karen) of Little River, SC, daughter Donna (Marian) of Niskayuna, NY, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Stephen.

A native of Phila., he was a WWII combat wounded veteran who was awarded a purple heart. He graduated from the Wharton School at Penn and spent his career at RCA, where he was business manager for the Missile and Surface Radar Division. His work required frequent travel, particularly to Kwajalein in the US Marshall Islands. He had an innate wisdom and great business acumen.

Don enjoyed fishing, cooking, traveling with his wife. He was a very gregarious person, with a warm smile who could strike up a conversation with anyone.

Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation 9:30-10:45am Friday, December 15, 2017 and to the Mass of Christian Burial at 11am on Friday, all at St. Isaac Jogues Church, 349 Evesboro Medford Rd., Marlton, NJ. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem, PA

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Troy Area United Ministries, 392 Second St., Troy, NY 12180, taum.org or to the charity of one’s choice.
