The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Alexander Carmichael can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

Al will be truly missed, but most definitely not forgotten. Like most, I found Al to be an odd character at first, but it didn't take me long to realize he was one of the most kind and helpful co-workers I've had. I only got to work with Al for about 7 months, but this is what I take away from him in only that short time frame. I believe Al knew he was odd, in fact I think he relished in it (especially with the cat shirts he proudly put on display), but that is what I admired the most about him. He showed us it was OK to be yourself, even if it seems to be quirky, because as Al proved, you can influence and touch a lot of people by being a unique character and having a big heart. Although he was a little rough around the edges, I believe Al ment the best in everything he did and was always reliable to do the right thing. I can only hope to be half as comfortable in my own skin as Al was. I only wish I could have had more time to get to know him even better. I am going to miss his unfiltered commentary, his engineering guidance, and his one-in-a-billion character. Rest in peace my new friend. See you in the afterlife.
