Condolence: I just found out today of Al's passing. So sorry to have lost contact over the years and I'm very grateful to have crossed paths with you during my career start. You were always willing to lend a helping hand or a quirky joke. Glad to hear that you headed back west, it was always home.
Hope you are at peace.

Condolence: Al, buddy, didn't even know you were gone! We had some good times from wading thru tensors to wading thru mud on location. I will remember you whenever I hear Supertramp or see a Fiat. I hope you are not feeling crowded where you are... Rest in peace.

Condolence: Al was a wonderful, if quirky, friend for many years. I am thinking of his family who must miss him immensely. To me, he was always there, if difficult to reach at times.
He was one of my best friends for many, many years. Rest in Peace, my friend.

Condolence: Al,
I miss you everyday. It was wonderful to meet how
many people you have influenced including me.
Last night was New Years Eve and a couple was getting married and they were playing “Here comes the sun”.
I could not believe it and I remember how you were
singing that song with the piano player in the hospital. Lo
Mom loved her cat book you bought her for
Christmas. Love you Always,
Heather

Condolence: May I be lucky enough in my life to have half as many crazy wonderful experiences as you my friend. Your mad professor personality and unique character will be missed. Rest in Peace and know that I am a better person for having known you.

Condolence: Al will be truly missed, but most definitely not forgotten. Like most, I found Al to be an odd character at first, but it didn't take me long to realize he was one of the most kind and helpful co-workers I've had.

I only got to work with Al for about 7 months, but this is what I take away from him in only that short time frame. I believe Al knew he was odd, in fact I think he relished in it (especially with the cat shirts he proudly put on display), but that is what I admired the most about him. He showed us it was OK to be yourself, even if it seems to be quirky, because as Al proved, you can influence and touch a lot of people by being a unique character and having a big heart. Although he was a little rough around the edges, I believe Al ment the best in everything he did and was always reliable to do the right thing.

I can only hope to be half as comfortable in my own skin as Al was. I only wish I could have had more time to get to know him even better. I am going to miss his unfiltered commentary, his engineering guidance, and his one-in-a-billion character.

Rest in peace my new friend. See you in the afterlife.
