Obituary for
Liam Andrew Connolly McGeachy
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Liam Andrew Connolly McGeachy on December 9, 2017. At just 19 years of age, Liam’s life ended tragically while he was attending Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario.
Liam was an athlete who loved being outdoors doing all sorts of activities from snowboarding to cross-country running, kayaking, camping, and especially cycling. Liam attended high school at Walkerton District Community School where he took almost every Physical Education class available. He was very well-liked by staff and students at WDCS and at the Hanover Aquatic Centre, where he was a lifeguard and swimming instructor for four years. Liam will be remembered as a sensitive, kind and gentle soul.
He will be very greatly missed by his mother, Mary McGeachy, step-father Jeff Collins, father Stephen Connolly, step-mother Annette Connolly, siblings Alexandria Currie, Tammy Widmeyer, Hannah Connolly, Laura Connolly, Rowan Collins, Simon Collins, Laura Bailey, grandparents Peachy and Sandy McGeachy, Betty Connolly, Mary and Alvin Collins, nephew Nash Collins, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and dozens of close personal and family friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, December 15, 2017 for a celebration of Liam’s life at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Walkerton (Highway 9 between Walkerton and Mildmay) from 12:00 noon until 4:00 pm with a time of remembrance held at 1:00 p.m. Ann Maycock officiating.
