Donald Clare Prechtel- age 83, passed away at his home in Lake on Saturday, December 9, 2017. Donald was born on March 3, 1934 in Detroit, MI to parents Clare Joseph and Lucille Mary (Lowry) Prechtel. After High School, Donald proudly served with the United States Navy until June of 1960. On March 30, 1957 he married his sweetheart of 60 years; Beverlee June Smith. Together they raised a son, Scott. Donald resided in Detroit until his retirement from GM in 2000. He and Beverlee moved to Lake of the Pines in Lake where he was a member of the Men’s Club and also the Lake Eagles. He loved boating. He is survived by his wife Beverlee, his son Scott Prechtel and wife Amy of Oakland Township., three grandchildren; Alec, Madeleine, and Joseph Prechtel, and a sister Barbara Fionda and husband Anthony of Sterling Heights.
