Obituary for Marg Chubb

Marg Chubb
Beverley Donald Freeston Chubb age 86 years, passed away on December 1, 2017, and Margaret Velma Annie May Chubb (Granville) age 87, passed away on December 11, 2017, at the Ross-Payant Centennial Care Home, Assiniboia, SK, surrounded by their loving family.
Bev was born February 15, 1931 in Valor, Saskatchewan. His family relocated to Assiniboia until Bev was 7, then they moved to the farm. Bev attended Bruce school and in his youth he played ball, hockey and was very involved in 4-H.
Marg was born March 9, 1930 in Brandon, Manitoba. She grew up on the farm in Big Beaver, SK, with her four brothers and attended Ipsley Mound and Strawberry Coulee schools. At age 15, she moved to Regina to continue her education at Balfour Tech and then onto Saskatoon for a nursing course. She worked in Redvers and Bengough prior to moving to Assiniboia to commence working at the Assiniboia Union Hospital.
Bev and Marg were married on June 16th, 1953 in Big Beaver and moved to farm north of Stonehenge, where they raised their two children, Charmayne and Mylo. Together they operated a mixed farm for many years. The love for cattle was ingrained for both Charmayne and Mylo. For many years the family was actively involved in 4-H.
In 1981 Bev and Marg moved to Assiniboia, however, the farm stayed close to their hearts and were always ready to help out whenever they could. Bev and Marg were enthusiastic Rider fans, avid fans of curling (following Bev’s active curling years) and traditional country music, loved playing cards, anticipated bowling night and enjoyed traveling.
Following retiring from the farm, Bev received his Realtors license and sold real estate in Assiniboia and the surrounding area. He was involved with establishing the Assiniboia Veterinary Clinic, actively involved with the Rotary and served several years on the Assiniboia Coop Association as Director, Delegate, Vice President and President.
Marg was always active on the farm, whether it was operating the combine, bringing out meals, baking, growing a large garden or canning and preserving. She was a wonderful host and always served delicious home cooked meals. Marg served on the Pioneer Lodge/Ross Payant Nursing Home Auxiliary and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Helping others was always near and dear to her heart.
They were very committed to their family and treasured spending time with them. The warmth of their hugs, their home and their hearts will be dearly missed. As quoted by one of their grandchildren “In this world we are given a finite number of people who love us unconditionally, support us always, are our perpetual cheerleader and even butt kicker when needed. Our family now has two less of those irreplaceable people.”

Left to cherish their memory are their loving family, daughter Charmayne (Andre) LeRuyet,
granddaughter Natasha (Steve) Warriner, great grandchildren Avery, Addison, Marshall, Emmett, granddaughter Kalynda (Chris) Lipoth, great grandchildren Caiden, Isabelle, Jaxton, Autumn, grandson Tyson (Ida), great grandchildren Vilma-Louise, Benjamin
son Mylo (Judy) Chubb, grandson Dustin, granddaughter Rondi (Brad) Gould, great grandchildren Jordynn, Logan, Kaelyn, grandson Madison (Shay), grandson Rueben

Bev is survived by one brother Ivan (Phyllis) Chubb of Calgary. He was predeceased by his parents Robena (Ruby) and Dick Chubb, infant brother Murray and sister Amy.
Marg is survived by one sister Collette (Maurice) Clark of Eagle Creek, British Columbia. She was predeceased by her parents Annie and Henry Granville, infant sister Velma and four brothers Dick (Hilda), Ed, Bill, John (Sally) and very dear family friend Myrtle Hesjedal. Marg and Bev are also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Life for Bev and Marg was held on December 18, 2017, at the Messiah Lutheran Church with Rev. Marilyn Leuty officiating. The eulogy was given by Dustin Chubb and Tyson LeRuyet. Scripture Readings were shared by Natasha LeRuyet Warriner and Madison Chubb. Lunch and fellowship followed at St. George Parish Hall. Interment Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorial donations in Bev and Marg’s memory to the Assiniboia Auxiliary for Ross Payant Nursing Home were greatly appreciated.
