Obituary for
Willie Jewell Sheppherd
Mrs. Willie Jewell (Spence) Sheppherd, resident of Parkin, Arkansas, departed this life on Friday, December 15, 2017, at Broadway Health and Rehabilitation in West Memphis, Arkansas, at the age of 95. She was born in Parkin on Sunday, October 8, 1922, the daughter of Andrew Spence and Donie (Patterson) Spence.
Mrs. Sheppherd was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Parkin. She enjoyed crochet, tending to her flowers, and was always an amazing cook. She was always an optimist with a deep faith in God. She will be forever remembered for her caring and loving heart.
Willie was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, August Monroe Sides; her second husband, James Sheppherd; a son, George Sides; five daughters, Jeannette Alger, Norma Russell, Ethel Wilson, Jewel Kennedy, and Patsy Roach; a brother, Floyd Spence; and three sisters, Dovie Hanks, Julia Bratton, and Charlie Patterson.
She is survived by two sons, Bobby Sides of Parkin and Stanley Sheppherd and wife, Donna, of Brighton, Tennessee; three daughters, Clara Favela of Abbeville, Louisiana, Mary Whitlock of McCrory, and Ruby McFarland and husband, Mike, of West Memphis; twenty five grandchildren; forty six great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may visit at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in Wynne from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m., Monday, December 18, 2017. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Parkin Cemetery in Parkin with Brother Sunny Williams officiating.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Jerry Russell, Andy Russell, Jeff Russell, Larry Miller, Darrell Russell, and Trent Sides. Honorary pallbearer is Tyler McFarland.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Willie’s honor to First Baptist Church in Parkin.
