Obituary for William A. Benz Jr.
William A. Benz Jr., of Springville, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017 at the Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home at the age of 89.
He was born June 1, 1928 in Springville, NY - a son to the late William Sr. and Oella (nee Knapp) Benz.
He worked as an operating engineer for the Local 17. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of St. Aloysius Church in Springville.
William is survived by his children: Mary Jo Benz of Angola and Thomas (Nina) Benz of Springville; two grandchildren: Derrick and Ethan Benz; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Janice; and two brothers: Gerald and Carlton.
Friends may call Monday, December 18, 2017 from 4-8 PM at the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home- 271 E. Main St., Springville where a service will be held Tuesday, December 19 at 11 AM.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association- 2805 Wehrle Dr Suite 6, Williamsville, NY 14221
