Clyde Garland
Clyde was born Dec 28, 1943 in the city of St. John's Newfoundland to Thomas W. Garland and Mary Ann (Marion) LeShane. He lived at 48 Carter's Hill, until he, along with his brother and father moved to Toronto to join his mother and other siblings in 1954.
As a boy, He worked delivering by bycycle for Novack's Drug Store on the N.E. corner of Wellesley & Church St.
He lived for a time with his friends in Bob McLeod's Seaton Street. house - and boarded off and on for a few years with the Lew family.
He worked for the Toronto Telegram Newspaper as a 'hopper - then for the Post Office for 29 years delivering mail door to door and by truck, also sorting mail until his injured knee gave him trouble. In 2010, he left the Post Office to retired and live in Cobourg, Ontario.
He enjoyed the outdoors was an avid fisherman.
AFter living in Cobourg a short while, he was diagnosed with bladder cancer in late 2013 and had surgery. Unfortunately, the cancer moved into his lungs and he was admittted to Palliative Care in Northumberland Hospital Nov 13, 2017. He died Dec 14, 2017 - 14 days before his 74th birthday.
He shall be missed by his family and friends, nephews and nieces and remembered for his laughter and unusual sense of humour.
