Obituary for Harold L. Dennis

Harold  L.   Dennis
Mr. Harold Lee Dennis, age 91, passed away on Friday December 15, 2017 at the G.V. “Sonny” Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Monday December 18, 2017 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday December 19, 2017 at 11:30AM in the MS Veterans Memorial Cemetery with burial to follow. Rev. Sarah Windham and Rev. Jacob Windham will officiate the services. Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Dennis was a lifelong resident of Forest, MS where he was a member of the Forest United Methodist Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. His greatest accomplishments while serving in the Navy were World War II combat service in 1941-1945; Pensacola Air Traffic Controller from 1945-1948; and a Signal Man on a PC-821. He was also a proud member of the American Legion Hut-VFW and the Tadlock Sunday School Class
He was preceded in death by his parents, Byron Lee and Birdie V. Goodson Dennis; his sister, Mary Ann Sweet; and his sister-in-law, Roselyn Folks. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Rogers Dennis of Forest, MS; his children, Lisa Walters (Roger) of Forest, MS and Rev. Sarah Windham (Edwin) also of Forest, MS; four grandsons, Roy Windham (Kat) of Hattiesburg, MS, Jacob Windham (Hannah) of Laurel, MS, Tyler Walters (Allie) of Brandon, MS, and Cody Walters of Los Angeles, CA; five great-grandchildren, Israel Windham, Stella Grace Walters, Asher Windham, Owen Windham, and Charlie Walters; cousin, Betty Pritchett; dear family friends, Lauren Johnson, Terry Thomas, and Eddie and Paula Clark; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to: Forest United Methodist Church or the Gideon’s.
