Condolence: I have very fond memories of Mr. Smith. He was the choir director during my high school years, and I even remember him student teaching at the Feaser Middle School when I was in 8th grade during the 1986-1987 school year. You could tell he loved music right from the very start and was very talented, and could play the piano so beautifully. I remember him taking me to District Chorus tryouts my Senior year. I didn't make it in the end, and I cried most of the way home while he was driving us back to the school. He was so nice about the whole thing, and just patiently listened while I had my crying fit. He also gave me vocal lessons. He will live on in all our hearts in song. God Bless you.

Condolence: I may only have met Steve recently on City of Angels (what an appropriate musical) but I can still hear his laugh. I am the better person for knowing him even for this brief time. I can only say thank you, anything else is not enough.

Condolence: The angels are raising their voices in the “Hallelujah Chorus” while we lament the loss of a wonderful teacher, dear friend, and outstanding father. As a peer of Steve’s, I knew his passion for teaching, but even greater was his feelings for his students. If only all of us could be more like Steve Smith, this world would certainly be a better place. Steve, you will be missed!

Condolence: Heaven must have needed a choral director. Steve was such an exceptional human being. We worked together for many years and he taught both my girls. Rest in peace, young man.
