Richard W. Bossie - age 83, of Church Hill Road, died December 15, 2017 at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation & Nursing Care at Glenridge Drive after an extended illness.
He was born in Eagle Lake, ME on December 30, 1933 the son of Wallace J. Bossie and DeLourde (Madore) Bossie.
Mr. Bossie served honorably in the U.S. Navy.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Bath Iron Works as a finish carpenter for many years. He was previously self employed as a carpenter.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Constance M.A. (LeBlanc) Bossie of Augusta; two daughters: Barbara-Jean M. Dostie and her husband, Gregory of Sidney and Cynthia A. Sproul and her husband, Stanley of Whitefield; three sons, Michael J. Bossie of Vassalboro, Norman P. Bossie and his wife, Nancy of Chelsea and Kenneth R. Bossie and his wife Michelle of Whitefield; seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one brother, Patrick Bossie and his wife, Beverly of Augusta; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Philip L Bossie.
At the request of the family, there will be no visiting hours. Committal prayers with military honors will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 21st in the chapel at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta, ME.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either, MaineGeneral Rehabilitation at Glenridge Drive, Activities Fund, P.O. Box 828, Waterville, ME 04903 or MaineGeneral Hospice, P.O. Box 828, Waterville, ME 04903.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, ME.
