Michael M. Macekura, of Marlton, NJ, passed away on December 19, 2017, at the age of 61. Caring son of Eleanor and the late Michael Macekura. Beloved husband of Diane Macekura (nee Rich). Loving father of Matthew M. Macekura (Ashley) and Vanessa Robinson (Capt. Jeremy Robinson). Caring brother of Helen Bryer and David Macekura. Dear grandfather of Kaylee and Kellen Robinson.
Michael proudly served his country as a Major in the United States Army and part of the Infantry 82nd Airborne. He was the first commandant of the Army Sniper School. He received his Master’s from Drexel University and worked as the Associate Director of Admissions at Saint Leo University in Florida. Michael was very accomplished and eclectic. He was trained in Italy to make violins and loved antiques.
Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Friday, December 22, from 5pm to 7pm at Bradley Funeral Home, Route 73 S. and Evesham Road, Marlton, NJ. The funeral service will follow at 7pm at the funeral home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Michael’s name to The ALS Association Greater Philadelphia Chapter, 321 Norristown Road, Suite 260, Ambler, PA 19002 or to Paralyzed Veterans of American, 1113 Main Street
