Condolence From: Diana White
Condolence: To the family of Delores: Please accept my sincere condolences in the passing of your lovely mom. You might remember that I briefly rented an apartment from her and John while saving money for my first place. I remember chatting with John about religion the day she went with you to NYC to shop for Christmas. She planned Christmas for months! After that we were true friends. Your mom was cool. I appreciated the Christmas cards she continued to send long after I moved. I am so sorry she had cancer. I know she is in heaven and you have a special guardian standing by you to meet you again one day. With much affection, Diana

Condolence From: Pattie Tome
Condolence: Mom, It has been 2 days and my heart is still hurting. Throughout today I have thought of calling you and sharing something that just happened and then realize - I can no longer reach you by phone. I knew this day would eventually come. You knew it and tried to prepare me and would try to start a conversation about it, but I always told you to stop. I did not want to talk about you passing away. Things needed discussed you would say. That didn't matter; there was plenty of time ahead to talk about that. But you knew your time was nearing. You stayed so positive in your attitude. You kept caring for others. You stayed active. You had so many health problems that I didn't think you had room for any more. Yet, you handled each diagnosis with dignity, or rather, with your faith in God. You were a trooper until you received the diagnosis of the cursed "C". Once you heard that you had lung cancer, you let that one get to you. You no longer went out of your room, you no longer did the special activities, all food lost its flavor, and you started to drop weight - too fast. Your sister, Aunt Gladys Nelson, had recently passed away on November 11 so you were the last of your siblings. Your 3 children were married and established so you no longer had them to raise. You had reached the 5 generation status. You had lived a full life. You spread your love of God to all who knew you and brought a good amount of people into a personal relationship with God's son, Jesus. Thank you, mom, for being my loving and caring mom. Thank you for loving me when I was a rebellious teenager and a rebellious young adult. You never gave up on me; but rather, you continued to kneel bedside and pray for me. When I had no where to go, you welcomed your "prodigal daughter" home. You were responsible for playing a major role in both my husband (Roy L. Tome) and me accepting Jesus into our lives. You mentored us by having personal Bible studies with us, and were always available when we had questions. Mother, you were a woman after God's heart. I know that you immediately heard Jesus say, "Well done, my good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:21
