Obituary for Charles John Lennon Sr.

Charles J. Lennon Sr., 77 of Twin Lakes, WI, passed away at his son’s home in Pleasant Prairie surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday December 20, 2017. Charles was a beloved husband, father, father-in-law and papa.

He was born on April 7, 1940 in Waukegan, IL to the late Harold and Eileen (Rogers) Lennon. Charles served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Darlene McGinnis on June 20, 1970. He worked for many years as a carpenter. Charles belonged to the Antioch Moose. He loved his Cubs and Bears. He enjoyed hunting fishing, feeding the animals, especially the birds, he enjoyed playing cards, especially solitaire, gardening and farming.

Charles is survived by his loving wife Darlene of 47 years, his son Charles (Ashley) Lennon Jr., his daughter April Ann (Matt) Myers, his grandchildren, Andrew Myers, Zackary Lennon, Joshua Myers, and Jackson Lennon, his brothers and sisters, Harold (Loretta) Lennon, Jeanette (Bill) Bychowskia, Jerome Lennon, Tim Lennon, Denny Lennon and Mary Watts, his brother and sister in laws, Audrey (Sam) Viverito, Patsy (Bob) Irvin, Judy Sloan, Andy (Elaine) McGinnis Jr., Diane (Denny) Ostergaard, Bonnie (Rob) Norris, Dave McGinnis, Tim McGinnis, Fred McGinnis and his significant other, Tina Shyan and ex-wife Cindy McGinnis, Maureen (Bruce) Miller and Billy McGinnis. Additionally, he is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and a lifetime of friends. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father in law, Ann Marie and Andy McGinnis, his brother Bill (Nelly) Lennon, sisters Genevieve (Ronald) Miller, Betty (John) Van Bliggle and Paula Lennon, his brother and sister in laws, Bill Watts, Charlie McGinnis, Judy Lennon, Jim (Jean) Lennon, Sandy Lennon, Charlie McGinnis and baby boy McGinnis.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M to 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday December 27, 2017 at Warren Funeral Home located at 1475 N. Cemetery Rd, Gurnee, Il. Services will be at 1:30 P.M. at Warren Funeral Home. Entombment will be at Warren Cemetery. The Family is being assisted by Warren Funeral Home.
