Obituary for Shirley Marie Gish
Shirley Marie Gish, 86, a resident of Dallas died Thursday, December 21, 2017 in the Jefferson Manor. She was born on July 22, 1931 in Corvallis, Oregon the daughter of John and Imogene Townsend Turner. She attended school in Kings Valley. In 1947, she married Elmer Sidney Gish in Salem. They moved to Dallas in 1957. Shirley was all about her family as she was a wife, mother and grandmother. For a time she worked in the cannery seasonally. She loved to garden, do yardwork, play bingo, pick mushrooms and collect rocks. She enjoyed her trips to Goodwill as well as hunting trips in the Valley and in Eastern Oregon with Elmer. They traveled to Reno, Canada and California and other places to enjoy the scenery.
She is survived by her daughter Linda Morris, sons Michael Gish and John Gish and daughter Debra Bennett all of Dallas along with 14 grandchildren: Kari, Ryan, Marsha, Gabe, Angela, Rachel, Zane, Zac, Lindsey, Becky, Jillian, Jessica, Jade and Carlee, 27 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother Wayne Turner of Kings Valley and a sister Joyce Brewer of Corvallis. She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer in 2006.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00am Thursday, December 28th in the Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center. Private interment will follow in the Dallas Cemetery. To leave a message or memory please go to www.dallastribute.com
