Condolence From: Johnstons
Condolence: Sending love and sympathy. Love the photo posted here. Mary showed us so much kindness when we visited, sharing treats from her garden and many great stories. We still have the quilt she made for the boys when they were born!

Condolence: We were so saddened to hear of Mary's passing. Such a kind, sweet, positive and thoughtful lady! We will think of her every time as we pull into our landing across from their house, and miss our little visits. We're thinking of you John, and will be there to give you a big hug when we return end April. Our love to the whole family.

Condolence: When we first met Mary and John, it was shortly after the passing of a grandparent and we felt unready to open our hearts as the sting was still significant. Despite that, John and Mary were so kind and warm that we couldn't help but fall in love with them. We stopped in often since meeting them about ten years ago, often with items from our garden, wild blueberries or home made jams. Whether we brought something or not, Mary was always quick to offer "Cup of tea?" seconds after walking in the door and we were always thrilled when we heard her say "I made you some date squares". At John & Mary's 75th wedding anniversary, hundreds of people came to wish them well and we will always remember something that was said at that event. After describing how we met John and Mary, the response was that they were the type of people that could be anyone's grandparents. It's true and we're so glad that we opened our harts to get to know them. We will miss Mary tremendously and can only imagine what it must be like for John having been with her for over 75 years. We'll be checking in on John and know that other members of they're extended family will as well.
