Obituary for Joan McKee (Langford)

JOAN McKEE, 86, died Tuesday, December 19, 2017 in Jefferson, Oregon. She was born on July 28, 1931 in Salem the daughter of Maxey and Mary Albrich Langford. She attended and graduated from the Sacred Heart Academy in Salem in 1949. She married Marvin J. McKee on May 8, 1954 and they were married for 57 years when Marv died in 2011. Joan was a bookkeeper and a very accurate one at that for the State of Oregon and various companies in Perrydale and Amity. Joan and Marv enjoyed trips to the beach and always stopped at Barnacle Bills for shrimp cocktail. They enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and Reno before the local casinos came along, Spirit Mountain and Chinook Winds became their casino destinations. She was a member of the St. Philip Catholic Church in Dallas, taught Catechism and was a part of the Renew Group. She loved cats and while still on the dairy had as many as 30 cats around the place. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed playing cards.

She is survived her sisters-in-law Joyce Foltz and Dee Foltz, nieces Miranda Schotthoefer, Minda Dreiling, Michelle Foltz and nephews Rusty Foltz, Robert Foltz and Kevin Foltz. She was preceded in death by her brothers Stephen Foltz and David Foltz.

A memorial service will begin at 11:00am Saturday, January 6th in the Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Amity Fire Department. To leave a message or memory for the family please go to www.dallastribute.com.
