Macye Steele Innis passed away on December 26, 2017 at her home in Ft. Worth, Texas, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born on August 24, 1928 in Streetman, Texas, to Ruth Clark Steele and W.R. “Bob” Steele, who preceded her in death.
Macye always had a smile on her face and was loved by all who knew her. She was dedicated to her family and worked very hard to care for her four children, who all brought her so much joy. Macye enjoyed taking care of others, especially children, and she served in the Fort Worth Children’s Hospital Medical Auxiliary. One of her passions was her home on Cedar Creek Lake, where she and her husband, John, spent many happy days with family and friends. She was a true beauty and always made those around her feel very special. She will be dearly missed by so many.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dr. John Innis and her son-in-law, Steve Stroube.
She is survived by her children Rick Richards and wife, Janice, of Fairfield; Elaine Stroube, of Corsicana; Jim Innis, of Charleston, SC; and Sharion Bostic and husband, Billy, of Ft. Worth.; grandchildren Gil Stroube and wife, Lauren, of Ft. Worth; Kate Hrobsky and husband, Dirk, of New York, NY; Anne Brown and husband, Turner, of Dallas; Chelsea Powers and husband, Kyle of Crozet, VA; Madeline Innis of Charleston, SC; Lainey Bostic of Houston; Katie and Grace Bostic of Ft. Worth; and seven great-grandchildren.
Macye’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her caregiver, Jill Greenslade, who has shown Macye so much love and care for the last 5 years.
Graveside services will be on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., at Birdston Cemetery in Streetman, Texas with Pastor Steve Hayes officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth.
