Obituary for Robert F. Kyner Jr.

Robert F.  Kyner Jr.
Robert F. “Bob” Kyner, Jr. 82, of Shippensburg passed away, Saturday, December 23, 2017 at home.

He was born October 9, 1935 in Chambersburg, PA. Bob was a son of the late Robert F., Sr. and Marian Sellers Kyner.

He was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Newville. Bob had a small engine repair shop for over 40 years, worked at Richards Textiles for 13 ½ years, farmed for 10 years, had a Farm Machinery Dealership and Welding Shop for 7 ½ years and owned Kyner’s Hardware & Toys from 1975 until 1987. He served in the United States Army Reserves from 1956 until 1962. Bob was a life-long member of the Shippensburg Fish & Game Association and enjoyed traveling with his wife Velva, visiting places like Switzerland and Hawaii. He was a 1953 graduate of the former Shippensburg High School.

He is survived by his wife, Velva Z. Wenger Kyner whom he married June 4, 1955 in the Shippensburg Church of the Brethren, one daughter, Kathy Beecher of Shippensburg, one son, Randy C. (Marion) Kyner of Cumberland VA, five granddaughters, Emily, Eliza, Zora, Anne and Mary and one sister, Lois “Cookie” Dahm of Shippensburg.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018 in the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Newville at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Pastor Amy Wagner. Burial will be private. A viewing will be held Friday, January 5, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg.
