Obituary for Marilyn R. Delano (Ray)
Woolwich - Marilyn R. Delano, 76, of Woolwich passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2017.
Marilyn was born in Fall River, MA on August 31, 1941, daughter of Donald G. Ray and Vera R. (Richards). In 1959 Marilyn, graduated from Morse High School, and went on to graduate from the University of Farmington with her teaching degree. On August 24, 1963 she married Richard E Delano of Bath, and resided in Farmington. In 1967 they moved to Woolwich and Marilyn was employed at the Georgetown Elementary School as a teacher for 18 years. She was later employed at L.L. Bean, working in the picking/packing department, retiring in March of 2003.
Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an avid reader, frequent traveler, and fan of Hellen Keller and Susan Boyle.
She is survived by her husband, Richard R Delano of Woolwich, two sons, Mike Delano and his partner Stacey Crinion of Woolwich and Devon Delano and his wife Debbie of Sabattus, one brother, Don Ray and his wife Roberta of Burlington, MA, 5 grandchildren, Elizabeth Hawkes, Jessalyn Bradberry, Kyle Delano, Grace Delano and Kaiden Delano, many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, January, 6, 2018 at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High Street, Bath, with a gathering of family and friends to follow at the American Legion in Bath. All are welcome. Burial will be in the spring at Oak Grove Cemetery in Bath. Memorial contributions may be made to Maine Parkinson’s Society, 359 Perry Rd, Bangor, Maine 04401.
