Obituary for Allene E. Bethke

Allene E.  Bethke
Allene E. Bethke, 99, of Goliad, TX passed away on Monday, December 25, 2017. She was
born on October 20, 1918 in Camper City to the late Mike and Anna Angerstein Striedel.

Allene lived in the Goliad area for most of her life. She learned how to cook and bake from her
mother. She enjoyed cooking and baking for so many people. She cooked at the Senior Citizen
Center in Goliad for many years. She was an active member in the St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Allene stayed active by walking, working in her yard, which she took great pride in how well her
yard looked, and serving those in her community.

She is survived by her daughter Darlene (Gregg) Metting and her daughter in law June Bethke. She is survived by her 5 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
also survived by 2 sisters, Delphine Krause and Jody Schultz.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Roman Lee Bethke, Sr., her parents Mike
and Anna Angerstein Striedel and two sons William Mike Bethke and Roman Lee Bethke, Jr.
and two brothers and 3 sisters.

Register book will be available Thursday, December 28th from 10:00 am – 7:00 pm at Grace Funeral Home Chapel in Goliad. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 29th at 3:00 pm at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Goliad with Pastor Randy Bruno officiating; burial to follow at Glendale Lutheran Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Glen Lemke, Curtis Lemke, Leland Bethke, Robert Krause, William Striedel,
and Joel Gulliver.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Mrs. Celia Hernandez, who was Allene’s
longtime friend and has also been her caregiver. Thank you for all you did!
