Obituary for Elmer Burkholder Martin
Elmer Burkholder Martin, 1 month and 20 days, of Newville, departed this life on the afternoon of December 29, 2017, at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center.
He was born on November 9, 2017, at Holy Spirit Hospital, a son of Mervin S. and Anna M. Burkholder Martin.
In addition to his parents, Elmer is survived by six siblings, Phares B., Marilyn B., Miriam B., Eileen B., Annetta B., and Naomi B. Martin, all of Newville; maternal grandparents, Lloyd S. and Annetta M. Burkholder of Shippensburg; paternal grandmother, Anna S. Martin of Newville; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Elmer was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Phares H. Martin.
His funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m., on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at the Shippensburg Old Order Mennonite Church on Duncan Road, Shippensburg, with the church ministry officiating. Interment will occur in the adjoining church cemetery. Viewing will be Tuesday, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the Martin family home, 100 Ridge Road Newville, PA 17241.
Elmer’s family kindly requests the omission of flowers.
