Plackis on Dec 29, 2017 James J, of Brick NJ survived by his beloved wife of 61 yrs Mary (nee Hatzidaki) and his dearest daughter Elizabeth Plackis (Kenneth Erickson) and 2 grandchildren John and Mary Jamie. He served his country during the Korean War in the US Army as a paratrooper and an airborne ranger. He and his wife managed the J &M 88 motel in Brick, NJ. He was also a manager for Belray & Lily Tulip Manufacturing Company when they retired they moved to Greece from 1995 to 2015. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Tuesday from 10-11:30am St. Barbara's Greek Orthodox Church 2200 Church Road Toms River where a Funeral Service will be held at 11:30am. Interment in the Brig. General Wm C Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ. Memorial donations may be made in James' name to St. Barbara's Greek Orthodox Church 2200 Church Road Toms River, NJ 08753.
