Condolence From: Ron Hanna
Condolence: Sorry to hear about George, but I guess he had a great long life. My condolences to Ellie with whom he shared great happiness, as well as his family and friends.

George was one of my very best friends. He was a mover and a shaker as well as a great musician. I learned so much from him about music and life. The best thing he did for me was to show me how to have fun. I became more like George in the last thirty years in that I ran
my own music business although I switched from drums to jazz double bass.

I played drums with George and Larry Crawford though the 60's. Man! carrying that organ up every stairway from Kitchener to the Toronto with me and Larry on one end and George on the other. We were usually laughing so hard, it's a wonder we never dropped it.

We also had great trips in his van to buffalo/Niagara US to see Groove Holmes, Jack McDuff and others that George would talk to at great lengths to see how they adjust the B3 for the best sound. George often used two Leslies for better sound which were also fun to carry.

It was wonderful that George, Larry and I had the chance to have a couple reunions later in life, courtesy of Larry and his church, and the playing was still great.

Condolence: Many joyful memories of George and his music at St. Mark's church Milford Bay. we were very blessed in our small community to have such a dedicated and gifted gentleman at the organ. WE honour his each time we sing the Gloria by using the music that George composed.

Condolence: I remember George well
A swell guy, good piano teacher (taught my sisters) & musician (played with friends David Lewis & Richard Mende ... I think I sat in a few times too). Glad he had a full life. I wish George happy trails & offer my sincere condolences to his Family.

Condolence: While I haven't seen George for many years, he was a very important part of my life. Along with David Lewis on drums, I played guitar in the George Kadwell Trio for 2 years, from 1961 to 1963. George was a very important musical influence on me. I grew as a musician quite dramatically, thanks to George's influence.

I am glad to see that he lived to such a ripe old age. I offer my condolences to his family, and to all who cared for him.

Condolence: I'm so sorry to learn about George's passing. He was a huge musical inspiration to me for many decades.

Offering my love and support to George's family, and especially Ellie. We shared some wonderful times together, the memory of which will stay with me always.
I recorded this video in early June 2016. George played several well known tunes for me that day, in his usual clean and flamboyant style. I asked him to play one more. Something original that he himself wrote? He laughed, almost embarrassed at the unusual request. He explored some notes on the piano a bit, digging back into his memory, while I secretly hit record on my camera. He then began to play this beautiful ballad, having written it for his daughter years ago, explaining that it was created in celebration of her wedding.
I'm so pleased to share this memory with Georges family and friends now. He was a very special guy to me. The video won't upload here, so here's a Facebook link: https://www.facebook.com/randy.menard.10/posts/10215058849249626?pnref=story
