Condolence: Elliott was a dear sweet soul and friend of mine. I first met him and his companion Marlene while waiting tables at Jake's in Ashland, Ohio. I was very drawn to them. The amazing stories they told, their charismatic personalities and the pure love they would show. Elliott was like a grandfather to me. He had stories to tell and a dream to publish them. We had worked with an intern at the University to try to move forward with publishing but life had taken its toll and moving forward was a struggle. To know Elliott makes me a better person and I'm so sorry for the pain of the loss I'm sure Andy is feeling. Your dad always spoke so highly of you and I could literally see the joy in his eyes that you brought to his life. To Marlene, you're such a sweet angel that helped him through life and allowed him to have his wish of living the rest of his life at his home. I'm so sorry I wasn't able to be there for you all but know that you're in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs love, Brooke

Condolence From: David Baughn
Condolence: Dr. Craine was a colleague of my father's at Hess & Clark during the 1960's, and his son Jeff was a classmate of mine at Ashland Junior High School. Jeff's death in 1967 was the first time I'd experienced the loss of a friend, and at 13 years old, was something I wasn't sure I'd ever get over. I could only imagine the suffering of his father, mother and little brother, Andy.

Our family moved to New Jersey in 1969, and our contact with the Craines was limited to Christmas cards until the mid-1980's, when I had the opportunity to visit during a business trip to Ohio. I would visit several times during the following years, and brought my son by to meet them on one occasion. During one visit following Mrs. Craine's passing, I had the opportunity to learn about Dr. Craine's military service in Europe during World War II, and was awed by his experience, and his ability move past it. He was an extraordinary man- A soldier, scientist, and proud father.

It has been a pleasure and an honor to know him. Condolences to Andy and All that will miss him-
