Obituary for Donald James Schoening
Donald J. Schoening, 82, passed away on December 31, 2017 in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Don was born on November 18, 1935 in Red Oak, Iowa to James and Elizabeth Schoening. He proudly served in the Unitied States Air Force. Don married the love of his life Birdie Head in 1960. He worked in the medical field as a Medical Lab Technologist at the Veterans Administration Medical Center until his retirement. Don was an active member of North Cheyenne Hills Baptist Church for 36 years.
Don is survived by his wife Birdie, Four children, Mary (Gerry) Gardener, Donna Hermann, Karen Mattison, and Paul(Ambika) Schoening; 12 grandchildren and 9 Great-grandchildren. Two sisters Rose Elkins and Virginia Paap and a host of aunts, uncles , nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his parents James and Elizabeth.
A Memorial Service will be held on January 3, 2018 at 11:00a.m. at North Cheyenne Baptist Church, with Pastor Mark Porter and Pastor Daniel Brubeck officiating.
Cremation is under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.
