Obituary for John Koles
John "Janos" Koles, 90 of Rainy Crest Long Term Care Fort Frances, Ontario passed away peacefully on Saturday December 30, 2017 with his family by his side.
John was born April 13, 1927 in Napkor Hungary and he immigrated to Canada in 1957 settling in Fort Frances. He was united in marriage to Margaret Vasadi on August 10, 1972. John worked as a logger here in the Rainy River District until he retired in 1977. John was a loving family man and he was passionate about gardening, making wine and sauerkraut and he was always eager to share with family, friends and neighbours. John loved to dress fine, sing and attend the dances at the legion. He was a true Toronto Maple Leaf fan and he was known in the community by his kind hearted demeanor. John will be lovingly remembered by his wife Margaret, his son John (Dawn); grandchildren Hunter Koles and Brooke Roulston and his great grandchildren Asher Roulston and Cohen Roulston. John was predeceased by his first wife Edith Cave, his brother Peter, and his sisters Elaina, Julie, Margaret, and Maggie A memorial mass will be held on Saturday January 6, 2018 at 11 a.m. from St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Alan Albao Celebrant. if desired memorial donations may be made in John's memory to the Rainy Crest Activation Fund, c/o Northridge Funeral Home, Box 89, Emo, Ontario, P0W 1E0.
