Condolence From: Brenda Weber
Condolence: I was sorry to hear of Mr. Espenshade's passing. I had him as my teacher at EHS in the mid sixties. He was always encouraging. Always had good memories of him. You could tell he enjoyed teaching.

Condolence: I send my deepest sympathy to the family with the passing of Mr. Espenshade. Christmas Eve of 2016 I received a phone call from him. Quite a surprise!(He had been my teacher many years ago. I graduated from Ephrata in 1967.)
Apparently he was reminiscing & reading over some old cards & letters. When he was a missionary I wrote a letter to him telling him about my family & how I enjoyed having him as a teacher & how great it was that he felt led to be a missionary. During the phone call he talked a while & he asked if I ever get up that way. I now live south of the Buck/Quarryville but I promised him I will come & visit. So April 2017 we had a very nice, long visit. About 2 1/2 weeks ago I visited him again & took some Christmas cookies to him. His health seemed good, but I knew he had cancer. Mr. Espenshade's niece Julie is married to my cousin Jesse Stauffer. Also, Julie's sister Nancy is married to Carl Groff who is a brother to my sister-in-law Elaine Stauffer. Thoughts & prayers to all the family. God bless!!

Condolence From: Stu Metzler
Condolence: Ken taught my Mom, Rhoda (Long) Metzler at Ephrata and then was still teaching when I attended! I joined his walking club in Junior High and appreciated his energy.

It had been great to reconnect with him in recent years as my Grandma was a close neighbor to him at Landis Homes and through his volunteering with Child Evangelism Fellowship.

He has been a great example of living out his faith and staying engaged with others.
