The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Jerry Grove can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: I will remember Jerry as a kind and humble man with a gentle and generous spirit.
He always seemed to greet the many challenges of life with grace and a smile. Jerry was also blessed with a wonderful, ironic sense of humor that would sneak to the surface from time to time. I will never forget a hilarious dinner I had with Jerry and Uncle Dick some years ago. Jerry did his best to influence his dad to make good food choices and I finished the meal wondering whether or not they serve cheeseburgers in Heaven? I will never forget Jerry or his love for his family, friends and strangers alike, for his country, and for all the creatures on the earth.
RIP Cousin.

Condolence: You (and your brother) were born on Dad’s birthday, so you began with a “Special” connection. You have been my C-burg connection and now you are our Heavenly connection to our Family Cloud of Witnesses. Every time I’ve seen a Cardinal, I have thought of Mother, now I will add you to my thoughts. You called her "your Angel" and now you are our Angel. I am sure she, Dad, Aunt Barb, Aunt Janet, Uncle Leo, Uncle Bobby, Aunt Frieda, Aunt Dodo, Uncle Owen, Uncle Paul and your Parents were all there to greet you.

You made your contributions to Scotland School, to the Air Force, to Chambersburg, to all the Zoos you were able to visit on your journey, to your Friends and to your Family. You are the first of us cousins to move on and it certainly makes us aware of our own mortality.

You challenge us to move forward in your honor….TO make each day count (Keep smiling), TO take care of our Family (you went out of your way to include Mother in family events and others in your “Circle of Care”), TO use our intelligence (I did not know you were a chess champion!), TO serve our country (which you did admirably), TO serve a cause (as you did with Meals on Wheels and the American Heart Foundation) and TO live our dreams (how many zoos did you see? And the places in the World you visited?).

Dad always said we are all “only here a short time at the longest” and your passing certainly brings relevance to that belief. It is with great sadness we accept the shock of your passing. We appreciate you and will remember you always. Every time we see a Cardinal or challenge another to “Keep Smiling” we will feel your Spirit.

My prayers are with your family...brothers & sisters who will "feel" your passing on a daily basis. May the rest of us gather together in harmony for the remaining years we have on earth. We will all be together Tuesday "in presence" or "in Spirit" as you watch us honor your life."You will have the best seat in the house." God Bless you Jerry and keep smiling!

Condolence: From Cousin Lee and Marinell to all in the Richard Grove family go our most heartfelt condolences. We know Jerry was a wonderful man and though he will be sorely missed, he will never be forgotten. The beautiful cards and animal photos Jerry sent us over the years will always be treasured. I'm sure Aunt Betty and Uncle Dick welcomed him with open, loving arms and may they all rest in peace.

Condolence: Jerry - you will be missed by your Texas family. We always enjoyed your visits. Ok the elf costume was a bit much, but other than that... I'll miss your Christmas cards with all the zoo animals on them. When the lion once again lies down with the lamb, I hope you're there with your camera!
