Obituary for Robert T. Tyer Sr.

Robert T.  Tyer Sr.
Robert Thomas Tyer Sr. age 83, of Trumbull, CT passed away peacefully at his home January 3rd 2018. He was the loving husband to Loretta Rose (Kacprzynski) Tyer for 57 years, wonderful father to his son Robert Tyer Jr. and father-in-law to Rose Tyer. He always doated over his granddaughter Sarah Tyer, who was the twinkle of his eye. He was the brother-in-law to Ed Kasper. He was born on February 25th 1934 in Bridgeport, CT to William Patrick Tyer Sr. and Anna Rita (Whalen) Tyer. Bob was one of four children, all of whom are predeceased: Patricia Baumgartner, William P. Tyer and Mary Louise Tyer. He had many nephews and nieces in Connecticut and New Jersey.

His earliest years were spent growing up on West Liberty St. in Bridgeport, CT. Graduated from Sacred Heart School then Central High School in Bridgeport. He was employed at Underwood Typewriter Company before he enlisted with the U.S. Army. After serving, he was employed with GE Supply Co. for 30 yrs. He was a lifelong member of Miamogue Yacht Club where he enjoyed being out on the boat with his wife who was fishing while he was getting some sun. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. An avid Red Sox fan, you would always catch him with a game on. He loved spending time with his family or with his son Bob around the garage.

Calling hours will take place on Monday, January 8, 2018 from 4 to 7pm in the Commerce Hill Radozycki Funeral Home on 4798 Main St, Bridgeport. A Funeral Mass will take place Tuesday, January 9th at 11am in St. Michael the Archangel Church, Bridgeport, followed by interment in St Michael Cemetery in Stratford.
