Obituary for Jimmy Russell Livingston

Jimmy Russell Livingston, (Nap) age 80, scored his last touchdown on January 4, 2018. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 6th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South. Services will be held on Sunday, January 7th at 2:00 p.m. at Magnolia Chapel. Burial will follow immediately at Tuscaloosa Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Jim Headley officiating.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Nettie Lee Livingston, brother, Claude Livingston, nie He is survived by his wife, Rose Brand Livingston, daughter, Marie Johnson (Barry), Sons, Rusty Livingston (Jill) and Ray Livingston (Karen); Grandchildren, Hunter Johnson, Patrina Kelly, Mary Margaret Strickland (Craig), Spencer Livingston, Anna Taylor Livingston and Nick Livingston. Brothers, Gordon Livingston, Dan Livingston (Margaret) Bruce Livingston (Brenda) sister-in-law Ethel Livingston, special Aunt Ouita Livingston, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jimmy was born on July 28, 1937 in Hale County. He attended Holt High School where he was an outstanding football player, receiving a scholarship to play at East Central Community College in Decatur, Mississippi. He was employed by McWane Company/Empire Coke and Coal and retired after 42 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking, camping and spending time with his family.
Pallbearers will be Rusty Livingston, Ray Livingston, Barry Johnson, Hunter Johnson, Spencer Livingston, Nick Livingston, Craig Strickland, Barry Livingston, Dennis Livingston, Scotty Hardin, Jerry Johnston and Allen Henry.
Honorary Pallbearers will be former employees of McWane Company/Empire Coke and Coal Company, Holt High School Class of 1957, Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Neighbors of Lynn Haven and friends at Caring Days.
The family suggest memorials be made to Charlotte and Mal Moore Caring Days Center or Hospice of West Alabama.
