Obituary for Francis Cameron Loughlin

Francis Cameron Loughlin of Farmington, CT, formerly of Avon and West Hartford died on Sunday, December 31, 2017. Born in Jamaica Plain, MA on May 13, 1931 he was the son of the late Francis J. and Estelle (Cameron) Loughlin and he was the beloved husband of the late Carolyn (Welsh) Loughlin, whom he married on Sept. 10, 1955. After living in West Hartford for many years, he and his wife moved to Farmington Woods in Avon and became "snowbirds" in 1999 finally selling their Avon home in 2009 to live year-round in Punta Gorda, FL. Francis is survived by two sons, Brian Keith ( Polly Streich) Loughlin of Unionville and Cameron Ford (Sharon) Loughlin of Grand Junction, CO. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Patrick John Loughlin (Rachel) of Burlington, Mikayla Brianne Loughlin of Grand Junction, CO and Dominic Chance Brown of Castle Rock, CO; great-grandsons, Aiden Gregory Sulliman and Joseph Kennedy Sulliman of Amston and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Beside his wife, he was predeceased by a grandson, Keith Francis Loughlin.
Francis was a graduate of St. Charles in Woonsocket, RI and attended Avon Old Farms School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1950 to 1952. He was a West Hartford Police Officer for some years and retired from the Jacobs Manufacturing Co., (Danaher Corp.) Francis was also a member of the American Legion, Hayes-Velhage, Post 96 of West Hartford. Funeral services are private. Online condolences may be made at www.SheehanHilbornBreen.com
