Obituary for Earl Edward Fice

Earl Edward Fice
It is with deep sadness that the family of Earl Edward Fice announces his sudden passing at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay, on Thursday, January 4th, 2018, at the age of 88.
Earl had struggled with his health the last few years, but rallied many times and so wanted to live to be 100.
He was predeceased in 2015 by his wife Gladys (Mountjoy), with whom he had shared 59 years of marriage.
He leaves behind “his girls”, daughters Debbie Mohr (Tom), Ellen Fice Almond, and Janet Hodder (Terry).
He was the extremely proud and loving Grandpa of Amber (Jeff), Erin (Dylan), Brittany, and T.J. (Samantha). Special step-Grandpa to Sonia & Erik. Earl was blessed with great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, and will be especially missed by his great-granddaughter, Kaylie.
Pre-deceased by his parents Everett and Leta, his brothers Bill, Stan, Lorne, and Morley, and sisters Marion and Elva.
Survived by brothers Al (Anne) and Ralph (Pauline) and sisters Elsie Heighington (Ed) and Lois Winton (late Gary). Fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Anita and brother-in-law Percy.
Also mourning his passing are brother-in-law Lawrence Mountjoy (Marie) and sister-in-law Enid Mountjoy.
Earl leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family and numerous friends that will miss him dearly. He was a sweet, kind, thoughtful and loving man who touched the hearts of many and will be lovingly remembered by all.
He always had a special place in his heart for animals, especially cats. He loved driving, bowling, airplanes, fish and chips, coffee dates, bingo, and Buicks … but most of all, his family, of whom he was extremely proud.

You are invited to a celebration of Earl’s life on Tuesday, January 9th, 2018, at Newcastle Funeral Home. Visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., service at 11:30. Luncheon to follow. Interment at Groveside Cemetery, Brooklin.
Earl’s family would like to extend their deepest gratitude and appreciation to the staff of Country Estates Retirement Home in Lindsay. Dad loved you all and his time spent there the last 2 1/2 years was most enjoyable for him. Thank you for loving him and taking such great care of him.
Special thank you, also, to the trauma nurses and doctors in Emergency at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay.
Donations in his memory may be made to the War Amps, or to a charity of your choice, if so desired.
