Obituary for James Bailey

LITTLETON - James Andrew Bailey, 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 5, 2018 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Houlton on April 21, 1937, one of seven children to Aubrey and Minnie (Wasson) Bailey.

James attended Littleton Schools, was a graduate of Houlton High School, and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree from Ricker College. He served his country while deployed in Germany with the U.S. Army and worked for Ward Cabin Company for 27 years. He married Linda Schools on August 3, 1963. Together, they had four children, Lynn, Lisa, Anita, and Darren. He and Linda worked in Portland for Spurwink School. He served on the Houlton Credit Union Board for several years, was a member of the Houlton's Monument Lodge #96, Anah Shrine, the Aroostook Shrine Club and Anah Shrine's Oriental Band. He ended his work career with the Houlton Sheriff's Department. James enjoyed hunting at Don's camp, fishing, being at the lake, line dancing and spending time with his family and friends.

Besides his wife Linda of Littleton he is survived by his children, Lynn Yetman and husband, Hollis, Lisa Bailey, Anita Tidd and husband, Graden, Darren Bailey and wife, Karyn; seven grandchildren, Ashley Neal, Taylor Flint, Justin Yetman, Hillary Yetman, Dayna Lincoln, Jacob Tidd, and Alyssa Peabody; two great grandchildren, Anna Yetman and Raegan Lincoln; a twin sister Janice Sewell, sister Brenda Beale and husband Julien; as well as many special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his brothers Aubrey J. and Larry; sisters Marie and Marjorie.

Family, friends, and others whose lives James has touched are invited to call from 12 - 1 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Bowers Funeral, 10 Water Street, Houlton where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. with Rev.
