Hornell
Jean M. Burdell, 89, of Fairview Avenue, passed away early Monday morning (January 8, 2018) at Jones Memorial Hospital.
Born in Hornell, NY, March 9, 1928, the daughter of Omer and Mabel Gay Nisbet, she had resided in Hornell all of her life. Jean was a member of the Hornell United Methodist Church. On October 14, 1947 Jean married Daniel Burdell who predeceased her in 2008. Jean was a long time member of the former Ivanhoe Chapter #160 Order of the Eastern Star and also belonged to a card club in Hornell. Jean enjoyed reading and taking care of her children and grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Daniel, 3 brothers; Richard, Elton and Gerald Nisbet, 1 sister; Carol Rossman.
She is survived by 3 daughters; Sharon (Patrick) Kelly of Rochester, Susan (Bill) Polmanteer of Hornell and Amy (David) McMichael of Hornell, 2 sons; Gary (Debbie) Burdell of Hornell and Daniel (Cindy) Burdell Jr. of Hornell, 9 grandchildren; Gary Burdell, Matthew Burdell, Catherine (Zachary) Zielonka, Brian Burdell, Andrew (Yorsa) Kelly, Sarah (Jim) Briggs, Jessica (Shawn) Murray, Emily McMichael and Timothy McMichael, 7 great-grandchildren, a sister; Delores Miles as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will be present from 11AM-1PM on Saturday (January 13, 2018) , at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell, funeral services will be held immediately following calling hours at 1PM, Rev. Lenny Fuller officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Hornell.
