Delmer Warkentin
Delmer Warkentin, 81, of Oregon City, Oregon, was surrounded by his family as he passed away peacefully on Monday, January 1, 2018 at Legacy Hopewell House in Portland.
Del is survived by his wife, Pat, of 57 years, daughters Shelley (Gaylen) Miller and Jill (Kent) Cox, brother Al (Agnes) Warkentin, sister Lois Schmidt, and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Del was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all.
Del was a passionate and energetic man. He taught high school science for 21 years and built houses and apartments during the summer months. After leaving the field of education, Del and his wife, Pat, served the hearing impaired from their “Beltone Hearing Center” office in Bend, Oregon, and then from their “Heritage Hearing Center” office in Oregon City, Oregon. They sold their business and retired in 2014.
Visitation will be from 1-5pm Thursday; January 11th and 10:00 am until 1:30 pm on Friday, January 12 at Dallas Tribute Center, 287 SW Washington Street, Dallas, Oregon. The graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm at Dallas Cemetery, 2065 SW Fairview Avenue, Dallas, Oregon.
To celebrate Del’s life, a memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 13 at Lake Grove Presbyterian Church, 4040 Sunset Drive, Lake Oswego, Oregon.
