Obituary for
William Orval Bingham
It is with sadness we announce the passing of William (Bill) Bingham on January 3, 2018. Bill was born in Sudbury Ontario, January 21, 1933, the son of Orval and Dougalda Bingham.
He is survived by Dorothy Busby and his sister Marian Leslie Bingham.
The family moved to Winnipeg in 1948 where Bill attended Gordon Bell High School. While their Bill played guard for the GBHS Panthers and in his final year was named to both the Winnipeg Free Press and Winnipeg Tribune All Star teams.
After High School, Bill also played football with WLI, Weston Wildcats, and St. Vital Bulldogs. He was recently inducted into the St. Vital Bulldogs Hall of Fame.
After graduation from high school Bill articled to obtain his Chartered Accountants degree which he did in 1957. He was employed by Revenue Canada, Booth Fisheries in Chicago, and was comptroller for Genser Furniture prior to opening his own practice.
Another of his passions was golf, at one time being President of Assiniboine Golf Club As well he enjoyed big band music, jazz and march music. He attended many jazz concerts at The Heights.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 14th 2018 1PM at Ness Baptist Church, 2700 Ness Avenue. Cremation has taken place.
