Obituary for Theresa A. Waller
Theresa A. Covelli Waller, 93, of Kenosha, peacefully passed away on Monday, January 8, 2018.
Born on March 29, 1924, she was one of ten children of Peter and Mary (Ziccarelli) Covelli. She attended Bain Elementary School, Washington Junior High School, and Bradford High School.
After working at Nash Motors and Great Lakes Naval Station, Theresa dared to follow her dreams and enrolled at the American Beauty College in Chicago. She returned to Kenosha and opened her own beauty salon, La Bella Beauty Salon, which she managed until her retirement in 1987.
On July 2, 1960 she married Edgar S. Waller, who preceded her in death on November 11, 1969.
Theresa was an active and independent person. She was past president of the Cosmetology Association, the Italian American Society, and the Catholic Woman’s Club, and was an active member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Her adventurous spirit took her on many journeys all over the world. Her skill for telling a good joke served her well as she organized many group tours from coast to coast and abroad, resulting in lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her siblings: George, Michael, Joseph, Rose, Minnie, Frances, and Louise, and survived by Ida and Yolanda. She is survived by many relatives and friends.
Theresa will be dearly missed by those who were constant in her life, especially by her California family, her dear friends, and those who loved her and appreciated her many talents.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018, at Proko Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Mass will be celebrated on Thursday following the visitation at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery.
