Al passed away January 9, 2018. Al was born July 23, 1935 in Battle Creek; the son of Kenneth and Kathryn (Johnson) Nickerson. A veteran, Al served his country in the United States Coast Guard. A Millwright and Contractor by trade, Al was a member of Millwrights Local 1102. Al enjoyed mushrooming, ice fishing and he loved setting up deer camp with his friends. Al was also a member of Hickory Corners Bible Church. Most of all, Al loved his family. On August 15, 1953, Al married the love of his life; the former June Marie Foote, who survives. Al is also survived by their children: Michael (Karmen) Nickerson, Kim (Gary) Yager, and Kathy (Dave) Kowall, a brother: William (Linda) Nickerson, eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Al was preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Charles, sisters: Suzanne and Linda, and a nephew: Mark Pennington. Al’s family will receive friends Sunday, 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Williams-Gores Funeral Home. Al’s funeral service will be conducted Monday, January 15, 2018, 11:00 AM, at Hickory Corners Bible Church, Pastor Jeff Worden, officiating.
