Obituary for John V. Davis Sr.
John V. Davis Sr., 69 of Townline Rd, Groton passed unexpectedly after a sudden illness on January 6, 2018.
Born October 19, 1948 in Ithaca, NY he was the son of the late Carl and Isabel Heintz Davis. Having been a lifelong resident of Lansing he had been employed for over 30 years until his retirement from the Tompkins Co. Highway Dept.
John had been a faithful communicant of St. Anthony's Church in Groton and had been a friendly face where ever he went.
He is survived by his son, John (JJ) V. Davis Jr and daughter-in-law Laura Davis of Lansing. His sisters, Jerry (Ron) Burke of Lansing and Noreen (Noni) Chatterton of Sandy Creek, NY. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister, Andrea (Andy) Dake and brother CW (Bill) Davis, brothers-in-law Bob Dake and Keith Chatterton and his niece Carla Overstrom.
He will be interned in the Spring in the St. Joseph's Mausoleum in Auburn with a committal service to be announced. Condolences may be made to his guest book at www.zirbelfuneralhome.com.
