Jack R.  Gardner
Jack R. Gardner, 88, passed away January 9, 2018. He was born to Joe T. Gardner and Dorothy K. (Petricko) Gardner, April 13, 1929 in Canon City, Colorado.
He attended Canon City Schools from 6th to 12th grade graduating with the class of 1947, lettering in both Football and Basketball.
One year after graduation he married Vera Marie Williams on December 16, 1948 in Florence, Colorado.
In 1950, the family moved to Colorado Springs. There he began working with the Timken Company/Brunner & Lay rock bit division where he worked for 43 years before retiring in 1993 as a Supervisor of Administrative Services.
In addition to his career working with the Timken Company, Jack worked as a registered Colorado high school football official and was also a registered IAABO basketball official for 17 years. He also enjoyed fishing, camping and everyday life.
After retiring, Jack and Marie returned to Canon City, where they celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary in December 2007.
Jack is survived by sons, Scott (Beth) Gardner, Jim Gardner; granddaughter, Kendra and grandson Kaden.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Marie (Williams) Gardner and half-brother, Dick Lewis.
Visitation, 10:00 a.m. followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2018, Wilson Memorial Chapel, 1449 S. 9th Street, Canon City, Colorado. Graveside service to follow at Lakeside Cemetery.
