Condolence From: P. Henderson
Condolence: I am truly sorry for your loss. However, John 5:25 says “the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who have paid attention will live”. Those who have died and are in God’s memory will be resurrected to a restored earth and have a hope of everlasting life. (Psalm 37:11, 29) I hope this brings you peace.

“When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable,
and the mortal with immortality,
then the saying that is written will come true:
“Death has been swallowed up in victory.”
(I Corinthians 15:53-54 NIV)

Dear Kenneth, Cynthia, Craig and Family:

We pray that your hearts are filled with the peace of God that gives you strength and comfort just knowing that your beloved father the Reverend Dr. Johnie Carlisle, Jr. has received the ultimate reward in Christendom, that joy of being summoned by the Most High God and escorted by a host of angels to be at peace and eternal rest. We celebrate the life of one of God’s giants, solid in piety, faithful in service, erudite in the church worship and liturgy, and obedient to his calling. “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”

We have solicited God’s favor on your behalf, to cover you and your family with His sustaining love, His gift of healing and His resurrecting power of comfort, all of which will carry you gently through this time of loss

We are mindful of the void which separation brings-- life without your beloved father and grandfather, but, we know the joy that will flood your soul when remembering the happiness brought to your lives by his love and kindness.

The officers and members of Ward African Methodist Episcopal Church join Kinette and I in extending our love and support to you and your family, as we bow in humble submission to the will of the Almighty Father, for God saw what we could not see, and knew what we could not know. Today, we celebrate the life of the Reverend Dr. Johnie Carlisle, Jr., for he has the victory!

I remain, Servant of God

Condolence: To The Family of Dr. Johnnie Carlisle, Jr.:

Ernestine and I would like to offer this expression of grief and loss to the AME Church family at the passing of Dr. Johnnie Carllisle. He served the church with great distinction and was one of the more excellent students during my tenure as Chairman of the Board of Examiners of the Southern California Conference.

Experience has taught us that when the house of this earthly tabernacle is destroyed, we yet have a building of God, not made with human hand. We pray this knowledge will sustain and encourage you. We extend our love and support to the family.

Sincerely,

Cornal Garnett Henning
