Mrs. Esmeralda Vargas went to be with her Lord in Heaven on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at her residence in Mexia. She was born on April 10, 1988 in French Camp, California to Juvenal Esquivel and Ruth Torres Esquivel.

Esmeralda and her family moved to Corsicana when she was a junior in high school. She graduated from Corsicana High School. She was the oldest of nine children. She loved her family and cared for her siblings and her own children with lots and lots of fun and laughter.

Esmeralda traveled many places with her husband, Francisco and loved seeing all the different cities and sights. One of her most favorite things was spicy food and she loved teasing her brothers and sister with challenging them to eat spicy food for treat rewards. Her family described her as a strong, loving, generous and happy person. She was a blessing to all who knew her. She will be forever in the hearts and minds of those whose lives she touched.

She is survived by her husband, Francisco Vargas, her children Mary Vargas, Issac Leon Vargas, and David Alexander Vargas. She is also survived by her parents and her siblings; Emanuel Esquivel, Matthew Esquivel, Juvenal Esquivel, Jr., Ruben Esquivel, Seth Esquivel, twins; Jose and Ruth Esquivel and Peter Esquivel. Esmeralda is also survived by her grandmother, Natalia Torres.

Visitation with the family is scheduled for Monday, January 15, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Corley Funeral Home in Corsicana. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Juvenal Esquivel officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery in Retreat, Texas..
