Obituary for Nolen Lumpkin Wood

Nolen Lumpkin Wood, 53, of Watkinsville, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018.
Born in Athens on May 12, 1964, he was a son of the late Van Y. Wood and Martha Elaine Kenney Wood. Nolen owned and operated Nolen Wood Lawn Maintenance for over 32 years. He loved hunting, fishing and his Triton bass boat. Most importantly, he loved his family and his Australian Shepherd, Sadie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Margaret Kenney and Leo and Nettie Wood.
Survivors include his brother, Charles Lee Wood (Connie Lynn) and a sister, nieces, nephews; aunts, Jeanette Christian, June Carithers, Lynette Wood and Margie Ward; uncles, Morton Smith and Carey Carithers and numerous cousins, friends and customers.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 19, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Lord and Stephens, West. Interment will follow at Johnson United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rusty Savage, Clayton Meelor, Curt Williford, Herman Smith, Leon McCannon, Justin Cooper, Mark Savage and Richard Smith. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 5:30 until 7:30 pm at the funeral home.
