Carl J.  Celella
Carl J. Celella, 77 of North Greenbush peacefully entered eternal life on Saturday, January 13, 2018. A graduate of Phillip Schuyler High School and HVCC, he was employed for many years as a project manager by J.N. Futia Co. and most recently by The Home Depot along with his guide dogs Gordo and Withers. He was also a professional drummer with various local groups throughout the Capital District.
Beloved husband of Mary Burek Celella for over 57 years. Devoted father of Carl D. Celella (Jennifer) and Gregory M. Celella (Myriha). Cherished “Pop” of Anthony Celella, Catherine Durbin (Dwayne) and Victoria Celella. Great Grandfather of Jayden and Annabelle Durbin. Also survived by sisters Mary Zumbo, Frances Blaine, sister in-law Suzanne Tymann and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Nunziatta Celella, sister Antonette and brother Pat.
Calling hours will be held at W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave. Rensselaer, NY on Friday, January 19 from 4-7 pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Michaels the Archangel Church, 175 Williams Rd. Troy, NY at 9:30 on Saturday January 20, 2018. Interment will follow in Holy Sepluchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Guiding Eyes for the Blind, 611 Granite Springs Rd. Yorktown Hgts. NY 10598.
