Obituary for Daryl Bowen
Daryl Bowen, age 69, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away at home on Sunday, January 14, 2018. Born December 14, 1949, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Charles and Janet Biesecker Bowen.
A 1968 graduate of Landsdown High School, Mr. Bowen went on to serve honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. He later worked as a machine Mechanic at the former Mack Truck and Volvo in Hagerstown, where he retired in 2014. He enjoyed tinkering in his shop, and wood and metal working.
Surviving is his wife of 47 years, Margaret Brady Bowen, whom he married on November 22, 1970; four children, Keith Bowen (wife Wendy) of Greencastle, PA, Scott Bowen (wife Sue) of Shady Grove, PA, Eric Bowen ( wife Rossana) of Harrisburg, PA, and Rebecca Rhone (husband Tony) of Chambersburg, PA; nine grandchildren, Morgan, Sydney, Colby, and Kody Bowen and Daphni Rhone and Christian, Caitlyn, Chloe, and Casey Hoover; two siblings, Cheryl Bowen of Greencastle, PA and Marsha Stein (husband Nick ) of Chambersburg, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018, at 10 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Pastor John Scahill will officiate. Interment will follow in Brown’s Mill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 18 from 6 – 8 PM and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home on Friday.
